Statement of Faith (OR) Doctrinal Statement
Scripture:
We believe, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God” and that, “the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost”. As such, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times”. God by His Divine Power has since perfectly preserved His Word as prophesied, “Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” This Inspired, Preserved Word of God is, has always has been, and will for ever be settled in heaven, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” God not being bound by language or tongue, as revealed on the day of Pentecost when the apostles, “were filled with the Holy Ghost” and “every man heard them speak in his own language” has given us these words in our King James Bible. The King James Bible is therefore the complete, inerrant, infallible, immutable, inspired, and preserved Word of God containing in its sixty-six books “every word of God” in the English language, and equally throughout “is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” The King James Bible shall be the Final Authority in All things. All other English translations are corrupted either unintentionally by man’s limited knowledge or intentionally by “evil men and seducers. Ultimately these other so called translations are designed by Lucifer through his crafty deception to bring confusion, division, and strong delusion. “Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?” (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Psalm 12:6-7, 119:89; Acts 2:4-6; Luke 4:4; Matthew 4:4; 1 Corinthians 5:6)
The Godhead:
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons,” For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one”, and “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”, equal in essence while distinct in personality and function. This is known as the Trinity. Beside the LORD our God is no other, “O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth”, and “God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me”. (Exodus 20:2-3; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 John 5:7)
The Father: This is Jehovah that spake with Moses on the Mount Sinai. He is seated in Heaven and is God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. “Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father,” and he only knows the time when Christ Jesus will return. He hath committed all things unto the Son. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the heavenly Father of all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior, God, and King. He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (Exodus 33:20, 6:3; Revelation 3:21; John 1:12,18, 3:35, 6:46; Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32; Revelation 19:6; 2 Peter 3:9; Galatians 4:6)
The Son or Word: This is the Lord Jesus Christ. He was “in the beginning with the God. All things were made by him: and without him was not anything made that was made.” He was manifest in the flesh, conceived when the Holy Ghost moved upon the virgin, Mary. His Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Atoning Death, Burial, physical Bodily Resurrection, physical Bodily Ascension, Second Coming, and Millennial Reign are basic essential doctrines necessary for the Fulfillment of scripture and our Salvation. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. He seeks to bring all glory and honor to the Father, and is the mediator between the Father and man. He is now seated in Heaven making intercession for the saints and serving as our advocate when we sin. (Matthew 1:18-20; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-3, 14; 1 Timothy 2:5, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Isaiah 53:4-5; Peter 3:18; 1 John 2:1)
Holy Ghost: This is the Holy Spirit that moved upon the face of the waters in the beginning and light was created. He moved upon the virgin, Mary, and Christ Jesus was conceived. He works in the heart of men convicting them of sin, drawing the sinner to the Savior, sealing, sanctifying, guiding, comforting, and empowering for to be a witness, those that have put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He seeks not His own glory but to bring glory to the Father, and to the Son. His filling must be sought by the believer if the believer is to please God and be effective for the Lord. (Genesis 1:2-3; Matthew 1:18-20; Luke 1:35; John 7:39, 14:17, 15:26, 16:13; Revelation 22:17; 1 John 3:24, 4:13, 5:6; Acts 2:4, 17-18, 8:29; Philippians 2:1; Rom. 8:1-16,15:30; 1 Corinthians 2:4, 10-14, 3:16, 6:11, 12:1-13; 2 Corinthians 1:22, 3:6, 17, 5:5; Ephesians 1:13, 3:16, 4:30, 5:9, 18; Galatians 3:14, 5:5, 16-18, 25)
Creation:
We believe in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth without the use of pre-existent material and apart from any process of evolution whatsoever, as according to the Genesis account. Creation took place in six literal days, consisting of six twenty four hour periods of time referred to as evening and morning without any gaps. On the seventh day God rested. (Genesis 1:1-31; Exodus 20:11; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3)
Man:
We believe that man was created in the image of God for fellowship, that he sinned and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also Spiritual death, which is separation from God, and will result in eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. All human beings are born with a sin nature and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. The unrepentant Sinner will go to Hell until the Judgement day when he is cast into the Lake of Fire. (Genesis 1:26-27 & 3:1-6; Romans 5:12, 19 & 3:10-13, 23)
Salvation:
The Scope of Salvation: We believe that Jesus Christ died as the substitute sacrifice for all men. The blood atonement He made is unlimited in its potential. It is limited only in its application, effectively saving all those who call upon the name of the Lord in repentance by faith. (Isaiah 53:4-11; John 3:5-8, 16; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21; 1 Timothy 4:10; 1 John 2:1-2, Acts 20:21)
The Way of Salvation: We believe that all who repent, receive by faith, the Lord Jesus, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God. (John 1:12-13 & 3:3-16; Acts 16:31; Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)
Security of the True Believer: We believe in the eternal security of the believer, that it is impossible for one who is truly born into the family of God, ever to be lost, because he is forever kept by the power of God. We believe that the question which arises is an issue of truthfulness in conversion in cases where parties are not able to overcome the world, and recant their faith. (John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:3-5, 1 John 5:4-5)
The Home:
We believe the home (family unit) is the first establishment founded by God himself, and is the most powerful establishment on earth. The home consists of a man and a woman, both being the gender and sexual identity of a male (man), and a female (woman) respectively, by birth, unaltered, and their children. The authority of the home is laid out in Scripture as follows. (Gen. 2:18-25; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:20-32, 7:2-3; 1 Corinthians 7)
Man: The husband, father, is the highest authority in the home answerable directly to God. He is the highest power in the home and is responsible for everything done in his home, or by his family, “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.” The husband is to love his wife, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. He is to work and so provide for his family. He is to love his children, not provoking them to anger, but loving, disciplining them, and training them in the Lord. (Genesis 1:17-19; 1 Corinthians 7:3; Ephesians 5:23-33; Colossians 3:19, 21; 1 Peter 3:7)
Woman: The wife, mother, is to guide the home under the authority of her husband, being in subjection to her own husband. Her work and her place according to scripture is to be a keeper at home. She is to love, reverence, and obey her husband. She is to bring forth children, love her children, train her children and discipline her children in the ways of the Lord. (Genesis 3:16; 1 Corinthians 7:39; Ephesians 5:22-24, 33; Colossians 3:18; Titus 3:4-5; 1 Peter 3:1-5)
Children: Children are to honor their father and their mother. Their primary responsibility is to be in subjection with all gravity, and to be obedient to their father and their mother. It is the responsibility of children to take care of their parents in their old age, as laid out in Scripture. (Ephesians 6:1-2; Colossians 3:20; Exodus 2:12; Deuteronomy 5:16; 1 Timothy 5:8)
Human Sexuality:
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of a marriage covenant between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's original intent for the proper and Biblical sexual relationship. (Genesis 2:24, 19:5, 13, 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1, 6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)
Abortion:
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused, execution of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, population or birth control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. (Job 3:16; Psalm 51:5, 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24, 49:1, 5; Jeremiah 1:5, 20:15-18; Luke 1:44)
The Church:
The Universal Church: We believe in the universal spiritual body of Christ. That all those that are saved are called unto one body and one spirit. This does not negate the necessity of the local church but rather is shown in Scripture to be broken down into local churches. (Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 12:23; 2 Corinthians 12:13; 1 Thessalonians 2:14; 2 Thessalonians 1:4; Revelation 3:6, 13, 22, 22:16)
The Local Church: We believe the Local Church, according to Scripture, is constituted as a called out assembly. It consists of local Scripturally Born-again and Scripturally Baptized believers. The Local Church is an Embassy given the responsibility of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to both their community and the world. We oppose the ecumenical movement and any movement that seeks to bring other religions, cults, and denominations together that have erred from the “common Faith” described in this doctrinal statement, can two walk together, except they be agreed? The Local church is to be autonomous, self governing, and free from any association which seek to have oversight of the local church. The Local Church is to assemble regularly, and its members are not to forsake that assembly for worldly pleasures or gains. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” No manner of media outreach can be an adequate substitute for the fulfillment of the responsibilities and accountability of a believer belonging to a local church. We oppose all forms of modernism. Membership is not determined by the name on a roll but rather by one’s faithful attendance, unless sent by the church for some work of the ministry, and life of holiness in compliance with the Word of God as taught by this local church. No media outlet from any ministry can be a substitute for the local church as it does not fulfill the work, nor create the responsibility to one another that the local church provides. There are two scriptural offices within the local Church, and there are two scriptural ordinances of the Church, and there is one Scriptural calling without the Church and they are as follows: A woman is not to teach, nor usurp authority over a man, but is to learn in silence. (1Corinthians 11:17-34, 12, 14, 16:1; Matthew 16:18, 18:17; Acts 2:47; Colossians 1:18, 4:16; 1Timothy 3:16; James 5:14)
Offices: The two offices set forth in Scripture are the offices of Bishop and Deacon:
Bishop: The Bishop, also known as Elder or Pastor, is to be a man, he is the undershepherd (Leader) of the flock. He is God's man called and gifted to preach and teach God's Word to the local Church. He “must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil” ,as an ensample to the flock. If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. He is to be duly honored by the Church. This is the highest authority of the Church and answers to God. This is to be an appointed position by God and the ranking assistant Pastor at that time should be the man to take up his mantle and assume his position in his departure whether by resignation, disqualification (until requalification), or passing away. It is essential that the sitting Pastor appoint a man to be his assistant as quickly as the Lord presents a man that is called, qualified, and capable. (Ephesians 4:11) (Noting that there are no more Prophets or Apostles in this time ) (Philippians 1:1; 1Timothy 3:1-7; 5:17; Tit. 1:6-9)
Deacon: The Deacon is a servant of the Church, proved and elected by the congregation, ordained by and subjected to the Pastor, and responsible for tending to the daily needs of the congregation, allowing the Pastor to remain in the Word of God and prayer. They are to be men that are full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom. “Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (Acts 6:1-6; 1 Timothy 3:8-13)
Ordinances: The two ordinances of the Church set forth in Scripture are Water Baptism and Communion:
Water Baptism: Baptism is the first step of obedience for the new believer. When a person accepts Christ as their Saviour they are to publicly testify of what Christ did in them through the ordinance of Baptism. Baptism has no mystical powers, it cannot wash away your sins, it cannot save you, and cannot be done for an infant. It is merely a public picture of what has taken place in the believer at Salvation. It is to be done by full submersion demonstrating the completeness in Salvation, their full submersion into the Body of Christ and their resurrection to walk as a new creature created in Christ Jesus. (Matthew 3:13-17; Acts 8:36-39, 10:47-48, 18:18; Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12)
Communion: Communion is the second ordinance of the Church. It is not to be taken unworthily by unbelievers, erred believers, believers who are in sin, lest these eat unto themselves damnation. Communion is for the Church to do in remembrance of Christ's Sacrifice for their souls and is only to be taken by those of close, common, Faith. (1Corinthians 11:23-34; Matthew 26:20-30; Luke 22:17-20)
Scriptural Calling Without the Church: We believe there is one Scriptural Calling without the Church, and that would be the calling of an Evangelist:
Evangelist: This calling is placed upon a man of God to go and preach the Word outside the bounds or the walls of his local Church. This calling would include: Street Preachers, Church Planters, Missionaries, Prison Preachers, Nursing Home Preachers, Revival Preachers and any other preaching ministry a man is called to go and do. The Evangelist should be a member of and sent forth by a local assembly, he should be accountable to his local church. However, he is to follow the leadership of the LORD in the ministry. (Ephesians 4:11, Acts 21:8, 2Timothy 4:5, 1Timothy 3 does not apply to Evangelists, only to Pastors and Deacons)
Discipline:
I believe that the Bible is clear in its condemnation of sin. I believe that any act of immorality on the part of any Church member is grounds for discipline, immediate banishment from the church, and dismissal from the membership, as determined by the Pastor and members (1 Corinthians 5 & 2 Corinthians 7:8-12; Ephesians 5:3)
Holiness: It is the obligation of every believer to be holy, as the Lord is holy. Holiness is not just a part of the church. It is mandated by scripture, and should be a primary focal point in every believers life to “present” our “bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is” our “reasonable service.” As believers we are to hate sin, and result of our love for the Lord. We are not to continue in sin that grace may abound for how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein. We are to practice pure religion and undefiled before God, which is this to visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction, and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. Our sin is what nailed Jesus Christ to the cross, and our sin is what he came to save us from. When a person gets saved, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new, and we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus, unto good works. The believers duty is to possess his vessel and sanctification and honor. Holiness in the life of the believer is one of the primary teachings, for any pastor, preacher, or teacher; as reaching the lost, and the perfecting of the Saints is his primary goal laid out in Scripture. This is “the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” (Leviticus 11:45, 20:7, 26; 1 Peter 1:16; Romans 6:1-2, 12:1-2; James 1:27; Matthew 1:21; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:10, 4:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:4; Ecclesiastes 12:13)
The Second Coming:
The Rapture: We believe in that "blessed hope," the personal, pre-millennial, imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, when He will gather all believers unto Himself and take them to Heaven. This is the next prophecy to be fulfilled and is only a partial return. (John 14:1-3; I Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-13)
The Second Advent: We believe Christ will come and destroy all those at the end of the tribulation who refused Him and are risen up against the nation of Israel. Then the nation of Israel will look on Him whim they have rejected and all Israel will be saved in a day. Christ will then take his rightful throne and user in the millennial (one thousand year) reign. (Rev. 19, 20, 21)
The Resurrection of all Men:
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in Heaven, and the everlasting punishment of the lost in the Lake of Fire. (Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 16:19-31; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 21:1-8)
Judgement:
All sin requires judgment and ultimately punishment. There are two judgments laid out in Scripture, the judgment seat of Christ, and the great white throne judgment. These apply as follows.
Judgement Seat of Christ: This judgment is the judgment of believers who have put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2Corinthians 5:9-11)
Great White Throne Judgement: This is the judgment of the damned which are those who have not put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. This judgment is described in revelation, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” All those that stand at this judgment will be Cast into the like of fire, because they have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. His blood has not been applied to their account, and “without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.” (Rev. 20:11-15)
Heaven: This is where those that put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ go when they die; “for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” This is where they will stay until the return of Jesus Christ, when he sets up his earthly kingdom and we rule and reign with him for 1000 years. After this, God will create a new heaven and new earth for his people that will be free from sin. Luke 16:19-31; John 14:2-6; 2 Corinthians 5:8; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18, 5:1-10; Revelation 19, 20, 21)
Hell: This is the place that the unsaved go to (those who have not put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and had His blood applied to their account). It was described, by Jesus Christ, as a flame in which the rich man was tormented; as a place of torment; and a place “where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” Hell will be cast into the lake of fire in the end, with all those who’s names are not found written in the book of life. Hell is a literal place. It’s not a picture. It is not a type. It is a real place where real people go who have not trusted Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and there is no escape or relief, until they stand before God at the great white throne judgment, and are cast into their eternal damnation in the lake of fire. (Matthew 3:12; Mark 9:44, 46, 49; Luke 3:17, 16:19-3; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8)
Civil Government:
We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: (1) the Home, (2) the Church, and (3) the State. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the church, and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. This is to say that civil government does not belong interfering with matters of the home, but is only to protect the God-given inalienable rights of “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”, equally of the people it represents. Further, the civil government has no authority over the church at all as it is an Embassy of a much greater authority, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the people are to serve in this land as His ambassadors. The civil government is to stay out of all affairs concerning the church and shall make no laws establishing or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Education is part of training and is the sole responsibility of the Home, and assisted only by the church. (Acts 5:29; Romans 13:1-7; Ephesians 5:22-24; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 2:13-14)
